Walnut Grove Campground is located in Boggstown, Indiana right on Sugar Creek! With sites along the creek and wooded sites, we have just the site for you. We offer a playground, basketball court, outdoor games, and plenty of space to fish. If you're looking to venture into the city, Indiana Grand Racing Casino is just 14 minutes up the road. Cutting Edge Pizzeria and Summertime Scoops Ice Cream Shop are less than 10 minutes away.
Walnut Grove Campground is under new ownership as of 2025. We are working hard to update all facilities. At this time, our bath and shower houses are under renovation.
We offer several port-a-potties to accommodate for this.
HISTORY
Walnut Grove Campground, homestead-turned-campground's namesake was likely derived from a large black walnut grove of approximately 100 trees near the creek. The exact opening date is unknown, but the oldest photo of the 35-acre camp is dated 1903. Mrs. Mary (Smith) Gray, former owner's grandsons recall back in the day, Walnut Grove boasted primitive summer rental cabins, a sandy beach, shelter houses, boats, and picnic tables. The campground was eventually sold a couple times. In 2025, ownership changed hands one last time. We are working hard to restore the original joys of the campground.
